A simple application to showcase the Guardian’s incredible photographic content. The first experience of designing for the iPad, created to coincide with it’s launch.
An app to showcase our eyewitness photos built to coincide with the launch of Apple’s iPad. We created this using an emulator and without access to a test machine.
The challenge was to provide a completely immersive and intuitive interface that allowed the images to dominate entirely, with any
navigation and design being clear, understandable and minimal.
The app contains 100 images when downloaded, each day another one is added and with the oldest being removed, to leave a rolling archive of 100 images at all time.
Steve Jobs described it as ‘cool’ during a roundup of apps at a
presentation.
